Softbank unveils glasses-free 3D smartphones

Taking a break from promoting all things iPhone/iPad, Softbank recently unveiled two new 3D ready smartphones called the Galapagos 003SH and 005SH (brand cousins to the Sharp Galapagos ebook reader).

According to Softbank, the touchscreen phones require no special glasses to view 3D content, feature a 9.6 megapixel camera, electronic wallet and will go on sale in December. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the announcement was the Steve Jobsian manner in which Softbank head Masayoshi Son prowled the stage holding court as a rare English translator interpreted his speech for online viewers.
