Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson have selected and customized a new Mac Pro for the upcoming (RED) Charity Auction. The Mac Pro will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on November 23rd 2013 to raise money for The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Sotheby's gives the device an estimated value of $40,000 - $60,000.
Ive worked with Newson to provide additional items for the auction including a Leica M for (RED), Apple EarPods in solid rose gold, a Hermès "Cavale" Saddle, a Unique Lamy 2000 pen set from Gerd Alfred Müller, The (RED) Desk, a unique "Red Pops for (RED)" parlor grand model A piano from Steinway & Sons, A Thermal Window for the US Space Shuttle on a Custom Stand, an "ARCO" lamp from Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Four "Birds" Chairs and "Petal" Coffee Table from Harry Bertoia and Richard Schultz, and a Range Rover.
