Google and Verizon to Release Chrome OS Tablet on Black Friday?

The Google Chrome OS tablet has been rumored for some time; however, a recent leak finally gives us hardware specs and even a release date.

The tablet is rumored to be released on November 26th which happens to be Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year in the U.S. Google plans to offer it in conjunction with Verizon and it will be built by none other than HTC.

According to the source, it will be heavily subsidized, to the point of being free, with a Verzion data contract of course. In terms of hardware, it will be based on NVidia’s Tegra 2 platform and will include a 1280X720 multitouch display, 2GB RAM, minimum 32GB SSD, WiFi/Bluetooth/3G connectivity, GPS, webcam and possibly expandable storage via a multi-card reader.

It will be interesting to see how Apple responds if these rumors are indeed true.
