Spixi a better way to charge & sync your iPhone and Android

"Introducing Spixi a new kind cable for smartphones. It is slim and sleek- unlike any cable you've seen before.

Spixi features a unique, retracting 2-foot cable made from an eco-friendly thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) that is stronger and more durable than polyvinyl chloride, the commonly used material for cables. Because of TPE's superior characteristics, we can design a thinner cable without sacrificing quality and performance.

Yes, we've heard about iPhone 5

Spixi comes in 3 different connector flavors: iPhone 5 (8-pin), iPhone 4/4S (and previous versions), and Micro-USB (Android, Blackberry, Windows).

The world's FIRST jam-free retractable USB cable for smartphones

A high level of design and quality- is unheard of, in the retractable USB cable world. It's our pleasure to change that.

How big is it really?

Let's take a look.

Product features

A connector like you've never seen before

The connector is sideways. This helps minimize the compactness of the design. Because the connector is oriented on its side, the chance for damaging the connector is greatly reduced.

USB flips up, up, and away

The USB connector folds away. This allows Spixi to maintain it's streamline design so it won't get caught with other items while you're taking it out of your bag.

Stays in shape to impress you

Spixi is slim. So slim that it will not interfere with the other USB ports on your laptop, so you- the user will never have to compromise. It's just slightly wider than your typical USB flash drive.

Made for on-the-go

The case is made of polycarbonate, similar to the macbook chargers. This gives protection to the cable when it is stowed and on-the-go. It will give users peace of mind, knowing that their cable is housed around solid construction.

Let's talk AND charge

Don't sacrifice freedom for portability. The popular emergency and short cables are great for certain situations, however, they put your phone in a paralytic state. Spixi's 2-foot cable is long enough to take calls or open apps comfortably, all while charging and syncing through your laptop.

And here's how you can help

We need to raise $30,000- to make Spixi come to life. The funds raised will be used to cover the tooling costs of the production molds.

A rigorous effort has been made to choose the right supplier for this product. And we're proud to say, that we've found a good match. We've been in communication with Spixi's supplier for the past 6 months, and can confirm that the our high level of quality can be met. They make product for some of the biggest names in technology, so we are confident. The supplier is located in China and we have a planned visit in the coming weeks- very exciting!

If funding is successful by November 1, we plan to ship in February 2013.

Why does it take so long to make?

We are all about transparency, so here is the breakdown: it takes 2 months to make the tooling, about 1 month to produce the units and address production quality, and an additional month for the products to arrive to our shores. So if tooling starts in November, we're looking at February to delivery Spixi to our awesome supporters!

Spixi specs

Dimensions: 2" x 2.25" x 0.75" (50.8mm x 57.2mm x 19.1mm)
Cable Length: 2' (0.61m)
USB 2.0
iPhone 5 Connector: 8-pin
iPhone 4/4S Connector: 30-pin
Android, Blackberry, Windows Connector: Micro-USB
White/Black Edition Materials: Polycarbonate, TPE
Limited/Angel Edition Materials: Anodized Aluminum, Polycarbonate, TPE
We are really proud of our product, and that's why we have a patent pending."

One amazingly simple solution to tangled and torn cables! With a great attention to detail, it is an attractive design(if you can say that about a USB cable, idk).

BREAKING T-Mobile unveils its big Sept. 12 plans for iPhone: ‘Bring your unlocked iPhone and save $1200 vs. AT&T’

T-Mobile announced a huge new “unlimited and unlocked iPhone” initiative today that will launch Sept. 12—a date that should ring a bell. The nation’s fourth-largest carrier does not and will not officially carry the iPhone, but its parent company carries the iPhone all over Europe and was even the original carrier in its home Germany. The biggest issue with T-Mobile USA and the iPhone is that T-Mobile’s 3G/4G bands are incompatible with Apple’s iPhone hardware. Therefore, a million plus iPhone users are kept to EDGE 2.5G speeds, which seemed to work O.K. for the original iPhone, but five years have passed since it first launched and expectations have largely risen.

Today’s announcement is a big one for T-Mobile and will be accompanied by a large marketing push. T-Mobile claims —and the math seems to work— that it will save users $50 a month over similar AT&T plans. The total savings amount equals $1,200 over the life of a two-year contract.

T-Mobile will have a store-within-a-store for iPhone users who want to make the hop. Trained T-Mobile salespeople will be able to instruct users on unlocking, but they will not physically open the devices. This is an unprecedented move…especially for a device that T-Mobile does not officially carry.

Getting your hands on an unlocked device is pretty easy and will probably get a lot easier over the next weeks as the new iPhone is announced. Apple has offered the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S unlocked almost since it released last year and you can currently snap up a new one at eBay for about $580.

T-Mobile has some more good news for prospective iPhone customers today: Remember the iPhone-compatible 1900MHz network it demo’ed at WWDC? That same 1900MHz 4G network is rolling out in Seattle, Las Vegas, Washington, DC, and the New York metro area currently (readers? sightings?).

Even better: T-Mobile’s tests of unlocked iPhone 4S devices running over 4G (HSPA+) on its 1900 band have recorded 70 percent faster average download speeds than iPhone 4S on AT&T’s network. We will wait for neutral parties to review before judging and, obviously, LTE is coming for the iPhone 5, which T-Mobile expects will run on its network.

However, the best part might be the company behind the network. T-Mobile allows its customers to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi when there is no network on their smartphones. The iPhone is no exception. T-Mobile has the Bobsled app for iPhone for making calls. This is fantastic not only when in low -service areas but also when travelling abroad. T-Mobile will release other apps soon for things like live TV, account management and visual voicemail.

We’re also developing iOS versions of helpful T-Mobile applications like T-Mobile myAccount, T-MobileVisual Voicemail and T-Mobile TV (we already offer an iOS version of our popular Bobsled application).

For those thinking about making the jump, remember that T-Mobile is not an official carrier and things like the following may apply:

Also, AT&T offers customers a chance to request a device unlock for their iPhone. The main requirements are that the device is an AT&T iPhone and all contract and term commitments are satisfied before submitting a request. The carrier can take up to a week to process a request, and it ”reserves the right to deny any unlock request that it concludes would result in an abuse of this policy or is part of an effort to defraud AT&T or its customers.” AT&T further said it could “alter this unlocking policy at its discretion without advance notice.”

Check out AT&T’s Customer Device Unlock page for more information.

The full press release follows:

T-Mobile Steps Up “Bring your own iPhone” Efforts

Suzanne Lowry, vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile has been a champion of “bring your own device” wireless with our affordable Value plans that separate the cost of wireless service from the purchase of a new phone. This means there are a lot of devices running on our network that we don’t sell in our stores, including more than 1M iPhones. We see a big opportunity to make the experience of bringing an unlocked iPhone to T-Mobile even better for customers.

That’s why, beginning September 12th, we’re stepping up our efforts to attract customers with unlocked iPhones to T-Mobile. Each of our retail stores will have an iPhone 4s demo unit and our sales staff will be trained to help customers set up their compatible iPhone. We’re also developing iOS versions of helpful T-Mobile applications like T-Mobile myAccount, T-MobileVisual Voicemail and T-Mobile TV (we already offer an iOS version of our popular Bobsled application). Finally, we’ll begin testing incentive offers in select markets and (in all markets) marketing the benefits of bringing an unlocked iPhone to T-Mobile, including:

· Unlimited data: T-Mobile offers worry-free, unlimited nationwide data.
· Cost Savings: Customers with unlocked iPhones can save $50/month compared to AT&T*.
· Nationwide coverage that’s only getting better: T-Mobile’s voice network reaches 96% of all Americans, and later this year, as we transform our network, introducing 4G (HSPA+) service in our iPhone-compatible spectrum, these unlocked iPhones will get a significant speed boost where these improvements are available.
As new equipment is in place, we’re already starting to turn up 4G HSPA+ service in our 1900 MHz spectrum. With sites live in cities like Seattle, Las Vegas, Washington, DC and the New York metro area, don’t be surprised to hear reports of iPhone speed sightings. In fact, our internal tests of unlocked iPhone 4S devices running over 4G (HSPA+) on our 1900 band recorded 70% faster average download speeds than iPhone 4S on AT&T’s network. We expect to have these improvements broadly deployed in a large number of markets later this year.

Today, we don’t sell the iPhone, but we do have something worth selling to people who have one. Our message to iPhone customers is simple: bring your unlocked iPhone to T-Mobile and save.

* Savings based on comparison of T-Mobile $69.99/mo Unlimited Talk, Text and Data plan against AT&T Unlimited Talk, Text, and 5GB Smartphone Data plan. Does not include taxes, fees, or promotional offers. Plan features and limitations vary.

Verizon and Sprint iPhones will not work on our network; other iPhones may have limited functionality. See stores for details. iPhone is a registered trademark of Apple, Inc.

iPhone Dev-Team Releases RedSn0w and PwnageTool Updates to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1

The iPhone Dev-Team has released updates to PwnageTool, RedSn0w, and CInject that bring support for the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak.

RedSn0w
redsn0w allows owners of A4+earlier devices to install rocky-racoon two different ways:
● backup/restore method similar to Absinthe and cinject
● its traditional limera1n-based ramdisk install. If you have a lot of media on your A4 device (music, movies, TV shows, etc), then the ramdisk method is preferrred because it avoids any possibility of later problems related to syncing to iCloud (including Photo Stream and Music Match). The ramdisk method is not available for A5 devices or later because limera1n can't be used. If you'd like to use redsn0w's ramdisk method, just be sure to put the A4 device in DFU or Recovery mode before starting redsn0w (otherwise it will immediately start to use the backup/restore method).

We've also added a new redsn0w feature specifically for those who got in on the SAM unlock: you can now include your SAM tickets as part of your initial ramdisk jailbreak of iPhone4 or earlier, or alternatively you can upload your SAM tickets to any device after its been jailbroken. redsn0w accepts either the individual SAM activation ticket plist file, or the entire zip file created by redsn0w's "Backup" button. As usual, redsn0w continues to cover all of its previous jailbreaks and untethers (so redsn0w-0.9.12b1 covers everything from 5.1.1 all the way back to 4.1).

PwnageTool
PwnageTool also avoids any possible sync issues, but again it applies only to A4+earlier devices. If you unlock your iPhone with ultrasn0w or a commercial method, you must use PwnageTool to avoid updating your baseband otherwise you'll lose the unlock. PwnageTool will also jailbreak+untether the AppleTV2,1 5.0_2B206f (unless you customize the IPSW further, you'll have just basic SSH access to the device).

Contributions:
If you'd like to contribute to those that actually developed rocky-racoon, please visit here (any other links you may see are not going to the actual rocky-racoon developers, they're being diverted to other "related" or fraudulent accounts).

This particular jailbreak brought an unusual amount of fanfare and hoopla to the table, including "press releases" and other haughty silliness. We'd just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that jailbreaking is about freedom, not fame and donations!

Rocky Racoon Package Untethers Your Previously Tethered Jailbreak

The Chronic Dev-Team has released Rocky Racoon 5.1.1, a package in Cydia that will untether your device if it is currently running a tethered jailbreak of iOS 5.1.1.

Rocky Racoon is the underlying untethered exploit that will be installed by popular jailbreak tools such as redsn0w and absinthe... if you are using 5.1.1 and you can reboot your device and have it still be jailbroken, you have Rocky Racoon.

If you device relies on Rocky Racoon for untethering, which includes nay iPad 2, iPad 3, or iPhone 4S running 5.1.1., uninstalling this package will unjailbreak your device.

You can install Rocky Racoon from the System section in Cydia.

How to Unlock Your iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS Using SAM [5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1]

These are instructions on how to unlock your iPhone using SAM. This method will work with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G on any jailbreakable firmware including 5.x.

Step One
Jailbreak your iPhone. You can find instructions on how to do that using the Limerain Jailbreak Tutorials Page.

Step Two
Tap to launch Cydia from your SpringBoard.

Step Three
Press to select Manage from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Step Four
Press the large Sources button.

Step Five
Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen.

Step Six
Press the Add button that appears at the top left of the screen.

Step Seven
Enter http://repo.bingner.com and press the Add Source button.

Step Eight
Press the large Return to Cydia button.

Step Nine
Press to select Bingner from the list of Sources.

Step Ten
Choose SAM from the list of packages.

Step Eleven
Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.

Step Twelve
Press the Confirm button to begin installation.

Step Thirteen
Once installation has completed press the large Restart SpringBoard button.

Step Fourteen
Insert your new SIM card and tap to select SAMPrefs from your SpringBoard.

Step Fifteen
Tap Utilities

Step Sixteen
Press to select De-Activate iPhone. Your ActivationState under "More Information" should now be "Unactivated". If you don't have De-Activate iPhone you can use De-Activate iPhone (clear push).

Step Seventeen
With SAM enabled, tap Method and choose By Country and Carrier.

Step Eighteen
Tap Country and choose the country of your ORIGINAL SIM.

Step Nineteen
Tap Carrier and choose your ORIGINAL carrier that your iPhone is locked to.

Step Twenty
For some carriers operating more than one Carrier ID you may need to select SIM ID. If you are unable to activate in Step Twenty Four then you have selected the wrong one.

Step Twenty One
Tap More Information and copy the IMSI under SAM Details to the clipboard.

Step Twenty Two
Tap Spoof Real SIM to SAM

Step Twenty Three
Go back to the main SAM screen and paste the IMSI number in your clipboard.

Step Twenty Four
Connect your iPhone to the computer and let iTunes reactivate your phone.

"Double click "Phone Number" parameter at the main device screen and make sure that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card." If not you need to start over from Step Fourteen."

Step Twenty Five
Unplug your iPhone from the computer and close iTunes.

Step Twenty Six
Reopen SAMPrefs from your SpringBoard and disable it using the Enabled switch.

Step Twenty Seven
Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes again.

You should get an error saying that your phone cannot be activated. This is normal. Just close iTunes and open it again.

Step Twenty Eight
In a short time you should see signal bars. Congratulations!

Step Twenty Nine
You should now backup your iPhone unlock ticket in case this method is ever blocked. You can find instructions on how to backup the unlock ticket here.

IMPORTANT:
If push notifications stop after this process, you can restore then with the Clear Push utility in SAM, followed by connecting to iTunes.

Your phone will work normally with your SIM card and that SIM card ONLY since we have tricked iTunes to think that ICCID is one of the intended carrier's. The phone can be rebooted and connected to iTunes freely without losing the "unlock", at least for now.

A big thanks to Loktar_Sun and Laforet for their contributions!
